Opera singer Igor Popov is ready to pay an extraordinary tribute to life on April 7 from 15:00 to 16:30 with his enchanting concert CHIAROSCURO in the intimate setting of Christ Church, Groenburgwal 42, Amsterdam. Pianist Mark Toxopeus.
Musical journey
The concert program is divided into three enchanting parts, each highlighting a different musical tradition. From the deep seriousness of German composers such as Beethoven, Schubert and Schumann, to the exuberant expressiveness of Italian Baroque, and the rich lyricism of Slavic, especially Russian and Ukrainian, folk music. Popov promises a musical journey that takes listeners through the unique qualities of each culture, while celebrating the universal language of music that connects us all.
In addition to the impressive collaboration between Popov and Toxopeus, the pianist will also perform some beautiful solo pieces. As icing on the cake, a surprise is planned at the end of the concert.
